  • It may be a small movie, but it's got a lot to offer.
    • the story is grounded; almost a complete tangent to the momentum of the Godzilla movies, but the timing was just right.
      • the previous movies had Ghidorah as a main antagonist, but Ebirah the giant lobster presents a very interesting challenge for Godzilla. He's a Water-based creature; something we haven't seen yet in the Kaiju-universe. So his addition to the franchise is a good way to diversify Godzilla's monster opponents.
  • It's got a lighter tone than the previous films.
    • They went to space, and fought an alien dragon. Now their going back to Earth and exploring new territories: Under the Sea.
    • The human characters' scenes were enjoyable to watch.
  • Ebirah interconnects the monsters, and makes the world feel real and cohesive with one another.
    • Mothra was a no-show in Invasion of Astro-Monster, but plays a significant role in this movie, due to her worshipers being kidnapped and forced to make a yellow juice to protect the Red Bamboo organization from Ebirah's rampant attacks on ships passing by his area.
    • Godzilla was just peacefully sleeping inside of a cave that's also the main location of the story, so his peace was disturbed once the human characters needed his help in order to fight Ebirah.
  • The human characters played Active roles.
    • The four guys who stumble upon Letchi Island (Devil's Island in translated subs) once their ship gets destroyed by a thunderstorm, find themselves in the middle of Godzilla's current resting place, and a terrorist organization called Red Bamboo, who are operating in the island, manufacturing nuclear weapons and a yellow juice to protect them from Ebirah and sell it to sailors/other ships.
    • once they find the Mothra worshipers that have been captured by Red Bamboo, the group decides to set them free, as well as find one of the four men's brothers who had met Ebirah's wrath at sea, and has joined with the Mothra worshipers on making the yellow juice.
    • They also wake up Godzilla, to help them escape the island, and also the Red Bamboo.
    • Their Heist-like scenes were entertaining.
  • The fight scenes between Ebirah and Godzilla were shot nicely.
    • Godzilla had to fight underwater, which was cool.
    • he also snapped Ebirah's claws out of him, which was brutally epic to see.
  • Not so much for Miniature sets, but that's alright.
    • this film was definitely low-budget, but it was done well anyway, so where am I to complain on that factor.
