  • What was up with the King Caesar sub-plot?
    • I didn't pay attention to those scenes, cause I was uninterested in it. It also didn't do much for the whole movie, anyway. King Caesar was literally just watching as Godzilla and Mechagodzilla brawled it out with each other. There was a moment in the final fight where you literally don't see King Caesar anywhere for like 2-3 minutes in the middle of the battle. Like what was the point of having an ancient legend in the story if it's just to serve as a wake-up call for a new Kaiju? Sure, all of the things the legend said happened in the third act, but it serves no purpose other than that. What's King Caesar's purpose if he wasn't even gonna fight Mechagodzilla all the way?
    • The movie could've done well without the use of the King Caesar subplot. It really could've done better without it.
  • Finally, some empathy for the human characters.
    • Fukuda didn't do well with the human characters when it came to vs. Gigan and vs. Megalon. He was sorely focused on the plot, and casually just put humans in the scenes just for whatever. But in this movie, vs. Mechagodzilla, it at least has a few good quality characters. Like the mysterious lurkers protecting the main characters turning out to be good guys trying to infiltrate the aliens. Or the scientist (who's been a staple actor in most of the Godzilla movies) and his metal pipe having a use for their escape against the aliens.
  • They still can't risk for continuity.
    • the aliens in this movie is interesting enough, but it's just not what my mind is looking for when it comes to this franchise. I'm looking for a comeback from the Venusian Princess, or the Xiliens. Cause Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster and Invasion of Astro-Monster have specific dialogue that teases the possibility for these characters to exist in future installments. But that never really happens. Or at least it hasn't happened yet. Though I'm very doubtful at this point if they'd actually bring back these elements to the story.
    • Like, how hard is it to ask for a sign of continuity in the world-building of these movies?
